Our main tasting room at 1900 Route 66, Ghent, NY, has gone through a whole new renovation this year! Come on down!
Palladian White –Palladian windows are among the most classic structures of elegant homes in the Hudson-Valley since the Rev olutionary War. While they were often a symbol of affluence, they also let in beautiful light, and the spectacular views that later became the inspiration of the Hudson River School of landscape painting. The main house on the Hudson-Chatham farm dates back to 1790, and the Palladian window there has a beautiful view of the Berkshire foothills.
Our Palladian White is a light, white dessert wine – a mixture of Seyval Blanc (a signature grape of the Hudson River Region), Niagara, and Riesling. With notes of peach and lechee, this is a delicious accompaniment to fruit, sorbet, cheeses, or just some nice sipping. It has all the texture and mouthfeel of a late harvest dessert wine, but it is actually a white port.
